This year my fiancé and I decided we weren’t going to spend any money on valentines day but rather do something from the heart. Richie did the sweetest and most romantic thing that anyone has ever done for me. He made a trail of notes each with a different reason why he loved me. It was so thoughtful and perfect! I’m so blessed!
Happy Friday everyone!! I’ve had such an amazing last two days and it got even better when I got on the scale this morning and I’ve officially lost 30 pounds since I started this amazing journey. I also included a photo of my stomach from this morning even though I indulged for valentines day all of my clean eating is starting to really pay off and my stomach is much flatter. I still haven’t mustered up the courage to post before pictures but I will soon!! Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!
Last nights run got me back in the mind set of hitting the pavement. It was sunny and a little warmer than a usual winter day so I ran around my neighborhood. I live on a big hill and either direction that I turn out of my driveway is filled with hills but I try to embrace it and know that when I have a killer ass this summer it will be worth it lol. Anyways, I got in a great 2.5 mile run of all hills then came home and did some arm and abs exercises. I’m also going to a yoga class soon!!!
What workouts did you do today?!? I love and need inspiration so please share ❤👍
In honor of Valentine’s day, I created this awesome protein shake that tastes just like a chocolate covered strawberry. Yum!!!
1 scoop of chocolate whey protein powder
8 oz of vanilla almond milk
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1 tablespoon flax seed
Toss in a few ice cubes, blend and enjoy!
It was one of those days where since the moment I woke up I got one piece of bad news after the other and nothing went my way. I never give my fiancé enough credit but he is amazing and goes out of his way to cheer me up. He suggested a nice long, run to clear my head. Richie and I both are back in the gym trying to get in shape for the wedding and leading a healthier lifestyle for our future. But Richie is not a huge fan of running and he is much faster then me so I think he secretly gets a little frustrated plus he’d rather do weight training! I love running with him because it keeps me motivated to keep up with him and work harder. It also lets us spend some time together even though we are both usually listening to our music! Anyways, it was one of my best runs in awhile and it was great to have my fiancés support and encouragement. It was freezing cold and we ran some hills but I feel so much better!
We are getting a huge blizzard in New York and it started snowing before I could get to the gym but snow won’t stop me…well the new me. The old me would have started my Netflix, cooked a bunch of food and hit the couch. Who am I kidding?! I’m still doing all of that later just with healthy food and after a great workout.
I hit the elliptical for 30 minutes and did Arm and Ab strength training for about 25 minutes after breakfast. I am obsessed with almond butter so I put two tablespoons on a whole wheat English muffin toasted with a banana on top. Yum!! Post workout I made this yummy smoothie with almond milk, whey protein, blueberries, strawberries, flax, coconut oil and chia seeds!!!
One of my very good friends recommended this book to me and I cannot begin to thank her enough. It was completely life changing and helped me to better understand Buddhism and yoga. After finishing the book, I was finally able to reach the place I needed to embrace yoga and Buddhism. I’m currently practicing yoga 3-5 times a week and the benefits to my body, mind and health are incredible.
If you are interested in yoga or Buddhism check out this boom- you won’t be disappointed!
I am so excited that I finally bought my first pair of Jimmy Choo’s!! Normally, I would never spend several hundred dollars on a pair of shoes but I decided to splurge for the wedding. Plus, living by the Woodbury Commons does have its perks. The outlets are substantially cheaper than regular stores. I also bought a dress to wear with the shoes for my bridal shower. I’ll post a pic soon!!
For all of my fellow brides to be, this is one of the best things that I have discovered through my planning. Registering for a wedding is not easy. Well at least it was not easy for us. I think that a lot of it has to do with the fact that we already have a house and most of the things that couples typically register for. While searching the internet one day I came across one of the best websites ever, well for brides struggling with their registry. Myregistry.com is amazing and I signed up the second I came across the site. So you’re probably thinking “What’s so great?”…well a million things. First, no more choosing one or two stores to register at. This website allows you to register at just about any and every store. There is even an app so if you are on the go and see something that you want to add you can snap a picture of the barcode and add it right to your registry. You can also add cash contributions for your honeymoon, house, etc. and the money gets directly put into your bank account through Paypal. Visit the site and check it out for yourself because there are so many other amazing things that you can do with this site.
I also want to share a few tips to consider while registering.
-Add gifts in a wide range of prices and multiple gifts at each price point
-Add gift cards (Think Victoria’s Secret for honeymoon goodies?)
-See if your resort has a honeymoon registry or gift cards your guests can get you for your stay
-If you already have a lot of the things you need- start thinking duplicates and more everyday things for example- tea towels, hand towels, a doormat, candles etc.
-You can NEVER have too much on your registry but you can have too little!
I’ve been on a journey to change my lifestyle so I can live a healthier life. I haven’t smoked a cigarette since New Years Eve, I do yoga at least 3 times a week, hit the gym another 2 days a week and eat clean and healthy. I feel AMAZING and I’ve lost 30 pounds over the last 6 months. It hasn’t been easy but it also isn’t rocket science. It’s about putting your health first and sticking with it long enough to see results. Once you start to see and feel results, it will help you strive to work harder. It takes three weeks to develop a habit- what habits do you want to start doing for YOU?!?
I’ve been doing a lot of research on clean eating and adding important nutrients and vitamins which led me to create the smoothie below. Check out some of the benefits of chia seeds, flax and coconut oil.
8 oz. Almond Milk
1 scoop of whey protein
1 whole banana
1 tablespoon each of flax, chia seeds and coconut oil
Mix it all in a blender with a few ice cubes and enjoy!!!!
